Kingdom Kerry Gaels 1-8 Garryowen 1-11
This game was won by Garryowen in the first 20 minutes .
The Kingdom Kerry Gaels defence started unusually slow and conceded 1-6 in
this period.
However a few well taken scores by John Holly and Killian Lynch before
half time gave the Kingdom Kerry Gaels some hope.
In the second half the Kingdom Kerry gaels became more assertive and
midfielders Kevin Waldron and Stephen Sheehan began to dominate the
physical battle in midfield.
A well taken penalty by John Holly early in the second half lead to
an exciting finale to this game. The Kingdom Kerry Gaels battled well
to the final whistle but they had left themselves with a mountain to climb
from their first half pergormance.
Best for the Kingdom Kerry Gaels were Kevin Waldron and John Holly

Kingdom Kerry Gaels 2-16 Neasden Gaels 0-8
Last Sunday at Ruislip the Kingdom Kerry Gaels qualified for the semi-final of the London Senior Football championship when they had a comprehensive win of 2-16 to 0-8 over Neasden Gaels. Played in ideal dry conditions the Kingdom Kerry Gaels were quickly into their stride and went into a 0-3 to 0-1 lead after 10 minutes. Neasden then scored 2 quick points to draw level at 0-3 points each after 15 minutes, but then Kingdom Kerry Gaels awoke from their slumber to score the next five points to open up a 0-9 to 0-4 lead at half time.
The Kingdom then took over the game with the towering Kevin Waldron and the very industrious Stephen Sheehan totally lording midfield, they took a complete stranglehold on the game and quickly scored four points to go 0-13 to 0-4 after ten minutes of the second half. They then struck for their first goal, clinically dispatched into the roof of the net by John Holly after good work by Denis Mcnamara, the game was then over as a contest.
Tom Roche the manager and his fellow selectors P.J. Burke and Christy Kissane used their panel to the full when they brought on their full quota of subs. Indeed one of these Jerry Bane pounced on a mistake by the keeper to score the second goal. Neasden scored a few consolation points but were well outclassed in the end. Best for The Kingdom Kerry Gaels were Martin Donaghy, Karl Scanlon, Cian Kissane, Cormac Costello, Damien Maher, Kevin Waldron, S.Sheehan, D.Slattery and John Holly. Man of the match was Martin Donaghy and Shaun Howard was sure effective in goals.

Senior Football League Thursday July 11/07/2002 Posted Monday, July 15, 2002 by webmaster
Last Thursday evening at Tir Conaill Park Greenford, the Kingdom Kerry Gaels came out on top in their Senior Football League clash against high flying St. Brendan's with a score of 0-9 to 0-6.
Played in wet conditions the Kingdom Kerry Gaels served up a brand of no nonsense football, which was played with championship pace by both sides.
The Brendan's' were first into their stride when they went into a 0-2 to 0-0 lead after eight minutes.
Midfielder Kevin Waldron and the very industrious Stephen Sheehan began to insert their superiority on the game, the next five minutes went into 0-3 to 0-2 and they were never to lose the lead again for the remainder of the game.
A great surging run by Robert Patwell a late replacement for Dessie Lyndon resulted in a great point.
Both teams exchange scores to leave the half time score 0-5 to 0-3 in favour of the Kingdom Kerry Gaels.
The second half started the same as the first half with Kingdom Kerry Gaels on the top. Some woeful shooting by the Kingdom Kerry Gaels forwards. They kicked five wides from reasonable scoring positions in the first ten minutes.
Killian Lynch scored two long range points and a real beauty by Dennis McNamara from fifty yards saw the Kingdom Kerry Gaels edge furtherahead by 0-7 to 0-3.
The Brendans' replied by with three points in five minutes to leave the score 0-7 to 0-6 with eight minutes to go.
The Kingdom Kerry Gaels regained the upper hand and tacked on two points one from Diarmuid Slattery and a class one by Noel Dunning.
The Kingdom Kerry Gaels coasted home for a comfortable win and served notice of their intentions for the coming year.
Best for the Kingdom were Karl Scanlon, Shaun Howard, Cian Kissane, Kevin Waldron, Stephen Sheehan, D. Slattery, K. Lynch, and D. McNamara.

St. Kiernans North 1-6 Kingdom Kerry Gaels 0-11, 07/07/2002 Posted Monday, July 8, 2002 by webmaster
For the second Sunday in a row the Kingdom Kerry Gaels had to come from behind to beat St Kiernans by 0-11 to 1-16 in the senior football championships. St Kiernans led by 0-2 to 0-1 after ten minutes. The Kingdom Kerry Gaels who were well on top were once again guilty of some wayward shooting and over the hour kicked 22 wides. Manager Tom Roache must be having nightmares with his forwards shooting, well at least be grateful for the two points just on the stroke of half time. The Kiernans scored the only goal of the game after the Kingdom made a bad mistake.
Half time score 1-5 to 0-05. The Kingdom were quick into their stride and soon wiped out the arrears. Within ten minutes both sides were level. They then went two points clear, it was left to halfback Martin Donaghy to lead the way with a great point to put the Kingdom one point ahead and D.
Slattery scored the insurance point in injury time. Best for the Kingdom Kerry Gaels were Karl Scanlon, Martin Donaghy, Kevin Waldron, Stephen Seehan, Dessie Lyndon, Alan Bailey, D Slattery. Man of the Match was Karl Scalon.
The Kingdom Kerry Gaels extend their deepest sympathy to Tony O'Keefe and
family on the recent death of his father.
