Kingdom Kerry Gaels 0-12 Jersey 0-9

Last Sunday in Ruislip the Kingdom Kerry Gaels had a hard fought win over a very determined Jersey Irish in the London Senior Football Championship. Before the game both teams observed a minutes silence and the Kingdom Kerry Gaels players and mentors wore black armbands in honour of the late Mick O’Se.

The Kingdom who played into a very strong breeze were always ahead and lead at halftime 0-5 to
0-3.
They then went four points on the restart they Jersey Irish put them back to one point with five minute to go but the Kingdom Kerry Gaels finished the stronger and added the last 3 points to Jersey’s final score one point just on the whistle.

Best for the Kingdom were Carl Scanlon, Cian Kissane, Dessie Lyndon,(0-4) Stephen Sheehan, Kevin Waldon, and the former Dublin u21 Diarmuid Slattery (0-3).

The Kingdom Kerry Gaels would like to extend their deepest sympathy to the O’Se family on the death of Mick O’Se may he rest in peace.

Senior Football League - Kingdom Kerry Gaels 1-13 St. Teresa’s 0-3

Last Sunday at Ponders End, Kingdom Kerry Gaels had a facile win of 1-13 to 0-3 over St.Teresa’s in the Senior Football League played in Monsoon like conditions.

Both teams need to be complimented for servicg up a good display of football.
Play was even for the first 15 when the score was level at 0-2 each, then a melee in the St. Teresa’s goal mouth resulted in Stephen Sheehan lashing the ball into St. Teresa’s net and from their onwards the K/KG completely controlled the game.
Once again the forwards were guilty of kicking some very bad wides, 15 in all over the hour.
With the championship looming it’s a worrying aspect for Manager Tom Roche and his fellow selectors P.J. Burke and Christy Kissane. Roche agreed it is something they have to work on in the coming weeks and said he was happy to come to Ponder’s End and get a comprehensive win as not many teams have come away from here with 2 points.

Best for the Kingdom Kerry Gaels were Dessie Lyndon (0-6) Stephen Sheehan Kevin Waldron, Martin Donaghey and Karl Scanlon (who scored a goal for London the previous evening in Wicklow.
